Birmingham Metropolitan College has forged strong links with employers in order to offer a whole host of Apprenticeship opportunities.
Apprenticeships are free, available to young people from 16 - 24 years of age and you can earn while you learn. Each apprenticeship programme is designed to reflect the training needs of the individual learner. On average programmes take one - two years to complete.
Unemployed and looking for advice, training or the opportunity to get back into work?
If you’re 18-24 and been unemployed for six months, we can help you kick start your career with Jobskills@BMET and our Skills Shop in Merry Hill.
You can contact our Jobskills team directly or ask at your local Jobcentre Plus to be referred to Jobskills@BMET.
Training for employers
We also offer a wide range of training courses for employers including Health & Safety, Gas, Electric, Plumbing and Environmental Technologies as well as Professional Development.
Support and training for retailers is offered through the Black Country Skills Shop partnership based at the Merry Hill Centre which is run as part of the National Skills Academy for Retail and there is a range of support, advice and guidance and courses on offer for the unemployed.
