Courses for 14-16 year olds

Introduction

Essentially this provision brings school aged pupils into a post 16 learning environment to enhance their vocational opportunities. Delivery of programmes is through partnerships between colleges, schools and other partners (Work based learning providers, Local Education Authorities, Connexions).

The objectives of the 14-16 provision at Stourbridge College are to:

  • Increase students skills and knowledge
  • Improve social learning and development
  • Increase retention in education and training after the age of 16

Stourbridge College has had successful links with schools in the Black Country for many years. More than 300 14–16 year old students are participating in the programme and will have the opportunity to gain nationally recognised vocational qualifications.
