A formal application process will be followed involving both the school and the College. You will be interviewed by staff from College, successful candidates will be offered a place.

Being at college is a lot different to being at school. Here at the College we encourage you to take more responsibility for yourself. For example, you will not hear any school bells ringing here, you will be given the time and place for your lesson and you will be expected to be there.

At the College we do not call our tutors ‘Sir’ or ‘Miss’, we generally call each other by our first name. Also, at College you will notice that you do not have to wear a school uniform, but it is your choice whether you come to College in your school uniform or wish to change into more casual clothes.

However, when you are working in your vocational area you MUST wear any required personal PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.

When you are at College most of your time will be spent in lessons with your group and your class tutor. Your class tutor will be your first point of contact if you have any concerns. However, the College 14-16 team includes a dedicated student support worker who will be available at all times in case you may want to discuss any issues.
Your attendance at College will be closely monitored. It is also important that you arrive promptly for all of your lessons.

On the first day of your course in September you will have an induction onto your course. In this session, your tutor will explain what they hope you will achieve, the health and safety rules for the area you will be working in and the ways in which you will be supported in through your course. You will also have to complete an enrolment form.
