This qualification allows you to develop and sustain innovation and creativity along with a design and technology capability, to recognise constraints and to produce high quality products, to develop a critical understanding of the influences of the processes and products of design.

5 GCSEs at grade A*-C
What will I do?
The course will focus on the following:
- Product Development. You will select your own context, from which you must design and make a product that meets the original context/need
- Knowledge and Understanding of Product Design

- Further Study of Product Design

- Commercial Product Development. You will identify a client/user group, from which you must design and make a product that meets the original need. You will liaise with your client/user group in order to develop a commercial product
How will I be taught?
Lessons and lectures are underpinned by tutorial support and seminar presentations, assignments, individual study, group discussion and Interactive Learning Technologies (ILT)
How will I be assessed?
Ongoing assessment of coursework, assignments and formal examinations
Where will it take me?
Further study at degree level at university and then into careers in the design industry
I'm really enjoying my course. I find the tutors helpful and encouraging and they have helped me to develop my skills and become more confident with my ideas.
