What will I need?
4 GCSEs at grade A*-D to include either Mathematics or English.
How long is the course?
One year
What will I do?
The course comprises three core units:
- Developing Customer Relations
- Exploring Business Purposes
- Investigating Financial Control
Plus three specialist business units:
- Business Communications
- Doing Business Online
- Starting a Small Business
Additional Options
You will be given the opportunity to complete additional industry qualifications in order to give you further knowledge and experience for working within business, e.g. a recognised IT qualification which will run alongside the main programme of study.
How will I be taught?
Lessons and lectures are underpinned by tutorial support and seminar presentations, assignments, individual study, group discussion, projects, role play, research activities, visits to business organisations and Interactive Learning Technologies (ILT)
How will I be assessed?
Internally set and assessed assignments on the relevant units
Where will it take me?
On successful completion you may progress to the BTEC National Certificate in Business, the BTEC National Award in Retail or you may choose to go directly into employment.
I'm really enjoying my course. I find the tutors helpful and encouraging and they have helped me to develop my skills and become more confident with my ideas.
