5 GCSEs at grade A*-C to include Mathematics and English
OR Intermediate Business Studies
OR BTEC First Diploma
How long is the course?
One year
What will I do?
Certificate: Three core units plus three specialist units
Core units – for example:
- Developments in retail services
- Business principles in retail
- Customer service in retail
Specialist units – for example:
- Visual merchandising
- Fashion retailing
- Work-based learning in retail
How will I be taught?
Lessons and lectures are underpinned by tutorial support and seminar presentations, assignments, individual study, group discussion, projects and Interactive Learning Technologies (ILT) which will also include: • Guest speakers • External visits • Role play • Research
How will I be assessed?
Ongoing assessment of coursework, assignments and projects
Where will it take me?
Successful candidates will qualify for higher education courses such as HNDs or progress to the National Diploma/Certificate. Or you may choose to go directly into employment.
