Retail - Apprenticeship
LEVEL 2
What do I need?
4 GCSE’s grade D-G to include Mathematics, English and Science
Do I need to have a job?
To study under a full apprenticeship scheme you need to be employed within the Retail industry.
If you are unable to find suitable employment you may be able to study under the Programme Lead Apprenticeship (PLA) scheme which allows you to study three days per week at college for up to six months and we will assist you in finding a suitable work placement.
How long is the course?
Between 18 and 24 months
What will I do?
NVQ
- The qualification consists of the creation of a portfolio of evidence and will cover a number of units such as:
- Work Effectively in your Retail Team
- Provide information and advise to customers in a retail environment
- Receive good and materials into storage in a retail
Technical Certificate
- A knowledge based qualification covering units as listed above along with a exam.
Key Skills
- The qualification covers the Application of Numbers and Communication. The units consist of a portfolio and test dependant upon GCSE results.
How will I be taught?
Training will be delivered within the workplace through directed tuition and assignments to cover both practical and theoretical project work.
How will I be assessed?
Practical assessment is ongoing throughout the course. You will also build a portfolio of all relevant work- based evidence. You will also need to complete on line testing
Where will it take me?
Students may be able to progress to level 3 or other industrially recognised qualifications.
