AAT Fast Track (one year course)

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE’s at grade A*-C to include Mathematics and English Language.

Programme Aims

To gain a good understanding of book keeping requirements, financial accounts preparation, management accounts, computerised accounts, health and safety. VAT returns and basic statistics. During the course of the academic year you will study for both NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 3 in accounts.

Programme Content

Your studies will consist of completing the AAT Foundation Level 2 and AAT Intermediate Level 3 in accounting and will include:

Level 2

  • Recording Income and Receipts
  • Making and Recording payments
  • Preparing ledger Balances and Initial Trial Balance
  • Supplying Information for Management Control
  • Working with computers
  • Health and Safety
  • Achieving Personal Effectiveness

Level 3

  • Financial Accounts
  • Evaluating Costs and Revenues
  • Reports and Returns

Mode of Delivery

You will receive teacher input, partake in group activities and practice questions with teacher support.

Method of Assessment

You will be assessed by a combination of skills tests, external examinations and a portfolio of evidence.

Progression Route

On successful completion of the course you will be equipped to find employment within the accountancy and business sector. You may choose to further your studies through the Association of Accounting Technician NVQ level 4 qualifications on a part time bases then study either ACCA or CIMA. NVQ level 3 in Accounts is also well recognized by universities for those choosing to continue on to Higher Education.
