Gas Service & Maintenance - Apprenticeship
LEVEL 2
What will I need?
4 GCSEs at grade A*-C to include Mathematics, English and Science and a pass in a Lead Body initial assessment.
You are required to be employed as a trainee in the gas industry with a CORGIregistered company.
Practical work is carried out in a workshop environment; you are required to provide your own protective clothing and safety footwear which is essential for this course.
How long is the course?
Two years
What will I do?
You will design and meet customers’ needs by:
• Installing and testing components of the system
• Commissioning and decommissioning systems
• Maintaining the effective operation of systems
How will I be taught?
A range of practical and theory-based assessments will take place throughout the year. You will have the opportunity to use some of the most advanced construction computer programmes and IT facilities in the country.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will include ongoing practical, theory and district assessments, and various written assignments.
Where will it take me?
On successful completion of the programme you may progress to Level 3 in other City & Guilds Gas Qualifications.
