School Leavers - Learning opportunities for the 16 to 19 age range
Join in and have fun
Studying for your chosen qualification is a serious business and there is no substitute for the hard work it will take to achieve your goals but there is no reason why you cannot have fun as well.
Most courses use Wednesday afternoon for ‘enrichment’ activities and there are lots of other opportunities for events outside College. There are a number of activities you can get involved in during your time with us. The focus is on fun but there are other benefits from getting involved such as learning new skills and organising new activities of your choice.
We have a full time member of staff to help organise and co-ordinate these events and activities which can include:
• 5-a-side Soccer Competitions
• Athletics via British Colleges’ Sports
• Cricket
• Dance
• Deaf Sign Language
• Driving Theory/Basic Vehicle Maintenance
• Duke of Edinburgh Award
• Environmental Issues
• Football
• Fundraising Events
• Inter-College Activities
• Netball
• Pool
• Rugby
• Student Council
• Student Parties
• Table Tennis
• Theatre Outings
• Theme Parks
Many of these activities are dependent on the level of interest.
There are Coaching Award Programmes available, for example Basketball, Football, Netball, TOPS Play Award, Community Sports Leader Award and Higher Sports Leader Award (as available). We also have an Open Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which you and your friends can take part in.
The aim is to allow you every opportunity to gain and demonstrate new skills that can help to enhance your progression to work or higher education.
