How long is the course?

One year

What will I do?

This qualification is made up of eight units in which you will study in detail:

  • Engine Technology
  • Transmission
  • Fuel
  • Cooling
  • Steering
  • Suspension
  • Wheels and Tyres
  • Braking

Also

  • How to work safely with others
  • Working with others

How will I be taught?

Some lessons will be classroom-based and others will involve practical work on cars in the motor vehicle workshop. You may work on projects.

How will I be assessed?

Practical tasks, written assignments and online assessment

Where will it take me?

On successful completion of the programme you may progress to a full apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Studies.

Or you may choose to go directly into employment.
