Motor Vehicle Service and Repair - Advanced Apprenticeship
LEVEL 3
What will I need?
4 GCSEs at grade A*-C to include Mathematics, English and Science It is expected that you will hold a level 2 Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship or Level 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies.
To do this programme you will need to be employed in the Motor Vehicle trade (vehicle maintenance and repair)
How long is the course?
Two years
What will I do?
You will cover all aspects of Motor Vehicle repair.
- Diagnose and identify engine faults
- Train in Health & safety work practice
- Key Skills will be completed as part of the programme
The level 3 qualification is designed to develop the student's diagnostic abilities and look at more complex technology.
How will I be taught?
- 50% theory in lecture rooms
- Practical training in the College workshop
- One day per week when in College and four days in your work placement
- Videos
- CD-ROM demonstrations
- Practical training
How will I be assessed?
Practical tasks, written assignments and online assessment
Where will it take me?
Employment as a skilled mechanic
I'm really enjoying my course. I find the tutors helpful and encouraging and they have helped me to develop my skills and become more confident with my ideas.
