JOE PUTS HIS FOOT ON THE GAS
Joe Woodhall, 19, didn’t let redundancy put paid to his career. After taking a Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing at Stourbridge College’s Advanced Technology Centre, he put his foot on the gas and signed up for a gas installation and maintenance course at the Energy Training Centre – setting up his own business in the process.
He said: “I’ve always been more hands on and preferred more practical work rather than traditional studying so the NVQ courses at Stourbridge College were ideal for me. I was made redundant just before Christmas last year and was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to complete my NVQ so I set up my own business – JW Plumbing & Heating. I’m now fully qualified and the business is doing well.”
Joe is looking to add to his qualifications by doing other short courses at the ETC such as LPG.
