Assisted Continuing Education (ACE)

The ACE Department offers a range of full time provision as well as some part time provision for people with learning disabilities.

Students are taught in small groups, with additional support in all areas, and are encouraged to take part in everyday College life. Where appropriate, students will be supported onto mainstream programmes.

The College has a positive attitude to students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties, and has a Disability Statement providing details of procedures, facilities and access for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Students undertaking courses in ACE may be able to progress to mainstream provision in craft areas such as woodcraft, plumbing, motor vehicle, etc OR may be able to seek employment in appropriate work areas. Some may be able to move to occupational programmes in catering or horticulture.
