BTEC Firsts | Construction
Edexcel’s BTEC Level 2 First Certificate and Diploma in Construction are designed to provide a broad introduction to working in the sector and offer opportunities for accessing further study, such as a BTEC National qualification or an appropriate NVQ.
BTEC Nationals | Construction, Building Services Engineering and Civil Engineering
Edexcel’s BTEC Level 3 National Award, Certificates and Diplomas in Construction, Building Services Engineering and Civil Engineering are designed to provide progression to a university degree in an appropriate vocational discipline, or - for those working in the sector - to BTEC Higher National qualifications (HNCs and HNDs) or Foundation Degrees, or to employment.

The background knowledge and requirements for building services engineers is vast. They need to tackle the issues and abate the sometimes catastrophic effects of some of the problems within buildings and the services supporting them. Issues such as climate change, energy supply and conservation, environmental sustainability and quality need the attention of properly trained professionals and will drive growth in this area.

BTEC Higher Nationals | Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is concerned with the conception, design, construction and maintenance of fixed structures or public works. This is a challenging field; the design and build of structures such as bridges, airports and flood defences requires a high degree of proficiency in a range of technical disciplines.
