The Stourbridge College Football Academy offers young sports people, aged 16-19, the opportunity to develop a range of football skills and combine training and competitive matches with their academic studies.
Both Men’s and Ladies teams are entered into the West Midlands College League, in one of six regional leagues as well as teams in the E.S.F.A National Cup, B.C.S National Cup and B.C.S 5-a-side competition.
For the 2009/10 season the Men’s ‘A’ team will compete in the B.C.S West Mids Elite Premier division, the highest level of college football regionally. This follows a double title success; with the team crowned B.C.S West Midlands Premier 2 Champions 2007/08 and 2008/09.
The Men’s ‘B’ team is entered into the B.C.S/W.M South West 4 division. In partnership with King Edward 6th College, ‘Stourbridge Colleges’ a joint ladies team will compete in the B.C.S West Midlands Ladies Performance League.
The Football Academy has established strong links with a host of clubs to provide opportunities for players to progress into semi-professional football. These include Dudley Sports F.C. which is sponsored by the College and whose ground Academy members use on Wednesday match days, while training takes place on the state of the art rubber crumb pitch at Red Hill School. The facilities are both recognised as some of the best in the region.

The Football Academy has had tremendous success over the last five years both on and off the pitch. Most notably Stourbridge ‘A’ team were crowned BCS West Midland Premier 2 Champions 2007/08.
“One of the main reasons why I attend college is because I have the benefits of playing for the college football team. I think it is excellently run and gives me the chance to participate and develop my skills”, Nathan Kirby (Men’s ‘A’ team Captain & BTEC National Certificate in Sport).
