The 17 year old from Stourbridge is studying a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Sport at the college and has been skiing since she was three years old. She is currently ranked 16th out of all females in the country, winning awards such as the Welsh Cup Championship in Pontypool, coming second in the Grand Prix Series and third overall at the Irish Open Championships in Dublin.

She now skis at Telford’s Snowdome and Manchester’s Chill Factor. She said: “Once I have finished my course at college I plan to take a year out and compete all over the world before training to become a ski coach. I’ve always loved skiing and I’m really pleased to have found a course at college that allows me to pursue my interest in sport.”

Chris Harding, Sport & Public Services Lecturer at the college, said: “The course is 12 units over two years and the qualification will put Charlotte in good stead for her ambition to be skiing coach in the future or, if she decides that’s the route she wants to go, to go on to university.”
