Career Progression

So what happens next?

The qualifications you gain here at Stourbridge College will enable you to do two things:

Continue your education or progress into industry

If you choose to carry on with your education you could go on to university to gain and HND or Degree in a specific tourism field such as Tourism management, event management, entertainment management, adventure tourism or you could branch out into something more general such as a business or marketing degree.
You don’t even have to leave home as many of these courses are available at local universities.

If you choose to apply for jobs within the industry you will be encouraged to aim for travel agency, administration or hotel work. Our contacts in industry will allow us to help and guide you into something that is suitable for you. You should be aware however that many tourism jobs with responsibility may have a recruiting age limit of 19 or 21. This is usually the case for resort reps and cabin crew.
