Travel students check out Holidays (for a career!)
As the Travel department at Stourbridge College works on forming a relationship with Thomas Cook Stourbridge, the Level 3 YR 1 groups had the chance to find out what life is like for a Travel agent. On a very successful visit to the Crown Centre Store, the students took part in a Q+A session with staff to help learn about the role and training required.
Students were also shown the booking systems, advised on the application and interview process as well as the importance of personal presentations by Julie (Store Manager and her team).
The students found it a real benefit to see the job in action and put theory from the classroom into practice. They were able to link the visit into a practical assessment in their Customer Service unit, build a relationship and some of them may be returning for work experience over the next couple of months.
