The following information may be helpful to visitors or students who have a physical disability. All sites have portable induction loops (availabe from reception).

 

HAGLEY ROAD CENTRE

Parking

25 metres (undesignated). 1 number designated space on Heath Lane Entrance - 100m. 2 number designated spaces on Hagley Road Entrance Main Car Park - 100m.

Approach to Main Entrance

Two designated spaces with level access to main entrance 15m in entrance drop off zone. In addition valet parking can be arranged by prior agreement.

Approach to Main Entrance from Car Park

Ramped and stepped. Ramped - 60m (1 in 8) at steepest. No handrail. Stepped - 19 steps (rise 170 mm x tread 600 mm). Handrail to left side.

Main Entrance Doors

Two sets of double doors open out in lobby formation. Both sets are power assisted.

Internal Circulation from Main Entrance

Multiple levels with level, ramp or lift access to all areas except the upper floor of B Block (rooms B1 - B9).

Disabled toilet facilities near Reception and on Ground Floor of C Block.

Lift provides access to upper floors of A Block - A1 to A10, Maths Centre, Open Access, Language Centre and IT Suites.

A separate lift provides access to all three floors of C Block and to the ground floor of Engineering Studies. The ground floor of C Block is notated in the lift and external symbols as LG (lower ground floor) and G (ground) for the ground floor of Engineering.

Internal Circulation from Heath Lane Entrance

Level - teaching rooms C1 to C14 and E5. Disabled toilet facility.

A lift provides access to the 2 other floors of C Block and to the ground floor of Engineering Studies.

To access A Block and B Block, take the lift to the level notated as 1 (first floor).

Brooke Street entrance. 2 designated parking spaces. 10m from Reception.

Bowling Green Lane entrance. 2 designated parking spaces. 20m from Reception.

Internal Circulation

All areas are accessible by ramps or platform lifts apart from:
Rooms F6, F7, F8 (in the CDT block), G26 and mobile classrooms A and B.

Disabled toilet facilities available off main reception and an in the Gymnasium complex (ground floor and first floor).

Approach to the main entrance is by ramp.

Internal Circulation

None. All circulation external by paths and steps. Ramp access to cafe and toilets. No disabled toilet facilities.

Parking

90 spaces in total. 54 to front of building and 36 to rear - all require parking permits. 4 (within total) designated to front of Unit - 15m.

Ramped access 10m (1 in 16)

Main Entrance Doors

2 pairs electrically operated bi-parting doors with electronic sensors.

Internal Circulation

2 upper levels all accessible by 8 person lift. All areas accessed via double doors off wide corridors. Disabled toilet accommodation at ground and first floor levels.
