Website Accessibility
This site is designed to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Access Keys
Most browsers support site-defined keyboard access for specified links. On many Windows browsers, you can press ALT + an access key (followed by ENTER/RETURN KEY for Internet Explorer). On many Mac browsers, you can press CTRL + an access key.
These are the access keys for the Stourbridge College website:
H : Home
S : Skip navigation
1 : Courses
2 : Subject Areas
3 : College Information
4 : Contact Us
Resizable text
Text is styled in CSS (cascading style sheets) using relative font sizes and can be resized in all browsers. For example, users can increase font size in Internet Explorer using (View menu > Text size > Larger).
Standards Compliance
All pages are written in XHTML and use CSS for visual layout. If your browsing device doesn't understand stylesheets, the content will still be accessible.
Well-structured semantic markup is used. For instance, header tags like <h1>, <h2>, <h3>,
etc. are used to logically structure the content.
