Governance of Stourbridge College

“The Board of Governors has a responsibility to the staff and students of Stourbridge College and we meet termly to ensure that we support the aims and objectives of the college as well as promote the interests of the college in the wider community.”
Stourbridge College Governors collectively have a wide range of skills and experience and represent a varied cross section of the local community. Their main responsibilities are to:
- Oversee the educational character and quality of the college and its services to the local community
- Ensure that the college remains financially solvent, safeguards its assets and meets the requirements of the Instrument and Articles of Government
- Approve the annual estimates of income and expenditure produced by the Principal
- Agree the appointment and pay and conditions of the Principal and other senior postholders
- Set the framework for the pay and conditions of service of all other staff
- Monitor its own performance to ensure that the Governing Body operates to the highest standards
