How can I renew a book?
Items on loan may be renewed in person or by telephone.
When renewing by telephone please quote your name and the bar code number in the front of the book. Items may be renewed 3 times, but unfortunately after the third renewal you will be requested to return the material to the Learning Resources Centre.
Items requested by another reader cannot be renewed.
Can I use the internet?
As long as you have a your student ID card you may book a computer in the drop-in facility within the Learning Resources Centre at Hagley Road and Longlands. All computers have Internet access, this facility is for educational and administration purposes only. You may be asked to leave if using the computer for non-course related research.
Do I have to pay for photocopies?
A self-service card operated photocopier is available in the Learning Resources Centres. Cards can be purchased for £1.00. Each card contains 20 units, allowing 20 photocopies of either A4 or A3.
We also sell A4 sheets of acetate @ 10p per sheet which can be used in photocopiers.
All photocopies are subject to the Copyright Act.
Where can I get help when searching for books?
The Learning Resources Centre has searchable catalogues that allows you to find material by author, title or keyword.
The Learning Resources Assistants are available all day to help you with your research. If you require assistance please ask at the counters, where we will be happy to help.
Do I receive a textbook on my course?
Core textbooks are issued to full time students for the academic year. The textbooks are issued from the Learning Resources Centres and should be returned to the Learning Resources Centres and not the subject lecturer.
If you leave college before the end of the academic year please return all items on loan to you to the Learning Resources Centres. If any textbooks are not returned you will receive an invoice for the full replacement cost.
