The Good Schools Guide is an independent organisation which seeks to evaluate the performance of schools using government data and statistics.

Jessica Rogers, Teresa Roper and Daniel Wheeler have received the A Level Awards for Teaching Excellence for best results in AS level Film Studies.

The annual awards recognise excellent teaching in individual subjects and the guide measures a number of factors when assessing how well a subject is taught. They are based on results which go to make up the 2006 A Level performance tables and combine measures that indicate superb teaching.

Humanities Lecturer, Jessica Rogers said: “As well as being an engaging subject, the research and analytical techniques developed in the study of film genres and film making can be applied in other subject areas.

“The team is really delighted and proud to win this award. Our students achieved 100% pass rate in this subject, which was a superb effort.”
