Certificates and medals were presented by Andy Sylvester, Visual and Performing Arts Faculty Director, who said: “Quite clearly, this is a talented and ambitious group of students who have worked hard to achieve their success and I am sure they all have a bright and dazzling future ahead of them.”

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the leading drama schools and conducts the most eminent set of public examinations in speech and drama. The Academy is synonymous with professionally trained actors and theatre technicians.

The students have been studying acting on the LAMDA evening part-time course at Stourbridge College. The College has an enviable reputation for teaching performing arts and some of this year’s crop of budding actors are already on the road to success, in particular gold medal winner Sonia Wheatley, who has already appeared in episodes of Doctors and the award winning series Life on Mars.

Course tutor Tom Perrett said: “A pass grade in any LAMDA medal is remarkable but to achieve merits or distinctions is exceptional and I am really proud of them all. This group of students have both the ambition and talent to achieve success in the entertainment business.”

The LAMDA Drama course is ideal for anyone who aspires to be an actor or develop a distinctive speaking voice and build self confidence.

The course runs on a Wednesday evening at Stourbridge College, Longlands Centre, for more information ring 01384 344 400.
