The two day course was delivered by external provider Education Protrader using specially developed software which is based on the industry standard and enables students to set up mock companies and trade using real data and statistics.

The course deals with many of the elements of the financial markets such as: The History of Trading, Trading tactics and statistics, Bear and Bull Markets and Japanese Candlestick Charting and gives an insight into the day to day activities of a financial trader.

Course presenter Brett Ellis said: “This has been an excellent group of students to work with and they have really grasped the fundamentals of market trading.

“Education Protrader is partnered by ACM, the world's largest online trading company and the students training in this area use the same software that is used in the industry to trade in foreign stocks, currency and shares.

“The best traders will be invited to continue trading, and should they show promise, they may be offered positions as traders in a number of worldwide locations. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, where they will be trained and backed financially with the possibility of excelling as a trader.”

Stourbridge College lecturer Rebecca Gater said: “It’s been a fascinating couple of days, the financial topics have been presented in a clear and inspirational way and the hands on approach to learning has enthused many of our students to investigate the industry further.”
