College Event Builds Skills

Stourbridge College is showcasing its courses in gas, electricity, plumbing and construction at a special Skills Event in Brierley Hill on Wednesday 4th March 2009 encouraging local people to do something constructive!

The Skills Event will be held between 5.00 pm and 7.00 pm at Stourbridge College’s Advanced Technology Centre on the Waterfront in Brierley Hill and is open to anyone, regardless of their age, whether they are employed, unemployed or have recently been made redundant.

Kevin Stevens, Stourbridge College's Senior Director for Construction & Motor Vehicle, said: "Stourbridge College has two training centres, one in Kingswinford and one in Brierley Hill, offering a range of construction, electrical, plumbing and gas courses at all levels. It's so important in the current economic climate to equip people with essential skills and qualifications so that when industry starts to pick up there is a trained workforce on hand for local employers."
