Students In Healthy Competition

Stourbridge College has been questioning its Construction & Motor Vehicle students on their knowledge of Health & Safety through a competition which is being run at the Advanced Technology Centre in Brierley Hill.

Eight teams of four from Electrical, the Built Environment, Plumbing, Painting & Decorating, Carpentry & Joinery, Gas, Brickwork and Motor Vehicle have battled it out answering a random selection of questions relating to Health & Safety facts, law and procedures with two teams going through to the Grand Final on Thursday 22nd April 2010.

Gill Hill, Health & Safety Officer at Stourbridge College, said: “The quiz has been enthusiastically fought with teams and their supporters conducting themselves in a great sportsmanlike manner! The questions have been designed to make students think about the implications and importance of Health & Safety on a day to day basis and we are all looking forward to the Grand Final.”

The Grand Final takes place between Carpentry & Joinery and Painting & Decorating on 22nd April 2010 at 11.00 am. All teams will be presented with a mixture of cash prizes, t shirts and cups and shields for taking part and it’s anticipated that the quiz will be rolled out across the entire college in the next academic year.
