Stourbridge College’s Business Skills Director, Kim Babb, has spent the summer months undergoing a marathon charity effort to raise £5,000 for Help for Heroes – and she’s not running out of ideas to achieve her final goal.

Kim has already run the Stafford Half Marathon, the Stratford full Marathon, cycled two 100 mile stretches in the Midland Monster and Stourport Stinger races, run the Wombourne Half Marathon and done the Dambuster Triathlon. She is yet to compete in the Eaton Aquathon (which will see her undertake a 2km swim and a 13 mile run), the Bala Olympic Triathlon and the Birmingham Half Marathon.

More recently she took part in the Wiesbaden German 70.3 Half Ironman which saw her swim 1.2 miles, cycle 56 miles (climbing to over 1500m) and run 13.1 miles. Kim said: “Conditions on the day were treacherous with thunder and lightning at the start of the swim and torrential rain throughout the bike course which was extremely hilly. All the events I’m doing are self funded so all of the money goes directly to charity and so far I’ve raised £2,000.”

In order to keep the fundraising going, Kim will be cycling for 6 hours in Decathlon at the Merry Hill Centre on Saturday 2nd October 2010 and is urging people to come along and offer support. All donations for Help for Heroes are welcome: www.justgiving.com/kimandliz.
