Danielle, 13 from Quarry Bank, stopped off at Stourbridge College’s promotional event held over the weekend in Fountain Square at the Merry Hill Centre, had a go on the spinning bikes and entered the i pad competition being run in conjunction with Beacon Radio.
Derek Danks, Marketing Co-ordinator at Stourbridge College, said: “We were at the Merry Hill Centre all weekend to promote our range of courses on offer as well as telling local people about our new Art & Design Campus which is taking shape in Brierley Hill. We were pleased with the level of interest in the college and had over 1,000 entries to win the i pad – it really proved to be a major draw!”
Danielle said: “I saw the college event and it looked like there was a lot going on so, even though I’d only popped down to buy some bin bags for my mum, I had a go on the spinning bikes and had a look at drawings of the new campus which is being built up the road from my house. I thought it was a joke when I got the call from Stourbridge College to say I’d won the competition. I was so excited I had to ring back to check it was true! Everyone thinks I’m sooooo lucky!”
The new Art & Design Campus will be opening in September 2011. Anyone interested in courses should check out the eProspectus online
