College Event Draws Record Numbers
Stourbridge College’s promotional weekend held at the Merry Hill Centre recently drew record numbers of visitors and the event has really put the new Art & Design Campus in Brierley Hill on the map!
Principal Lynette Cutting draws the Crowd at the Promotional Event
Lynette Cutting, Principal at Stourbridge College, said: “We had have a variety of workshops going on throughout both days covering a range of subject areas including Art & Design, Construction, Sport and Apprenticeships and there were dance mats, spinning demonstrations and give aways for anyone who came to visit us during the weekend.
“Stourbridge College’s new Art & Design Campus in Brierley Hill is due to open in September this year and we are also refurbishing our Stourbridge Campus to include a brand new gym for sports students. We are also looking at alternative ways in which we can help students who would have been eligible for EMA. We had a lot of positive comments from people who live in Brierley Hill who weren’t aware that a new college campus was being built so the event was really positive in terms of raising awareness locally.”
Applications for courses starting in September 2011 at Stourbridge College need to be in by 1st March 2011 so students interested in courses – especially Art & Design in Brierley Hill – should contact us now for advice and guidance. Check out progress on the new building on the college website.
