KIDS is a national charity. Locally, they operate from The Orchard Centre, offering support and services to disabled children, young people and their families, including after school activities, youth clubs, Saturday drama and dance clubs, fun and games sessions, sensory sessions, family support including home care support and information services.

The students have completed the internal decoration in two weeks to a very high standard, supervised by lecturers from the college. Kim Fellows, Trainer, Painting & Decorating at Stourbridge College, said: “The students have really enjoyed the experience of working on a ‘real job’ and they have been a credit to the college. It’s very important that we have links in our local community and we are grateful for the continued support of the Leyland Decorator Centre in Brierley Hill where the manager, Andy Davies, has matched colours for this project as well as supplying materials at very low cost.”

Jayne Weaver, Manager at the KIDS Orchard Centre said: “We provide a valuable service in the local community, and it’s fantastic to have our facilities decorated by local students. They have all been very professional, and the standard of work is extremely high. Our sincere thanks go out to Stourbridge College for involving us in this work experience project which has benefited us both.”
