Lennox Ricketts and Philip Adams agreed to give the Scouts training sessions as part of their work towards gaining their Mechanic Activity Badge. To gain the badge the scouts have had to demonstrate a variety of practical motor vehicle skills including changing headlight bulbs and outlining the requirements for an MOT test.

Sarah Wagstaff, Assistant Scout Leader and a Programme Area Manager at Stourbridge College, said: “The scouts have been looking forward to the sessions since we told them it was planned and they all really enjoyed the hands on and practical experience. It was good of Lennox and Phil to give up their time, we wouldn't have been able to give the scouts an opportunity to gain their badges otherwise. The scouts will receive their mechanics badge at our next award ceremony and Lennox has agreed to give them out for us. Lennox and Phil in turn were awarded our thank you badge and certificate.”

Cameron Brown, aged 10, said: “I have only been at the Scouts for a few months and I really like it. Lennox and Phil have taught us lots about cars and it has been lots of fun.”
