Public Services Students Go The Distance
Stourbridge College’s Public Services students took the plunge recently when they travelled to the Lake District to take part in land and water based activities as part of their course.

The seventeen second year students took part by camping by a stream, going Ghyll Scrambling which involves moving along the hidden mountain streams, gorges and waterfalls and finished off by canoeing the 11 mile length of Lake Windermere. The four day trip was a great success.
Sarah Wagstaff, Programme Area Manager at the college, said: "The trip was organised to ensure that students could practise skills in both land based and water based activity. The experience was invaluable and tested both their mental and physical endurance skills in a wonderful outdoor setting in the heart of the Lake District. The activities were amazing and the four day trip was a great learning adventure for students and staff."
The Public Services course on offer at Stourbridge College can open doors for jobs in the Emergency & Rescue Services, Armed Forces or the Police Force.
