Partnership Serves Up Apprenticeships

The new Hospitality Academy set up between Stourbridge College and Kidderminster Harriers Football Club is now up and running and the partnership is looking to recruit more young paid apprentices – creating the right ingredients to provide first class hospitality and catering at the football club.

Catering students

Fifteen apprentices are already working in a range of apprenticeship programmes which are preparing them for catering qualifications including food preparation and cooking. The apprentices provide hospitality services for match days in the restaurant and bar area. They are also catering for other entertainment events such as weddings, parties and christenings.

A Recruitment Day is being held at Kidderminster Harriers Football Club on Friday 12th August between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm and anyone aged from 16 upwards, especially school leavers, are welcome to come along and find out more about the training jobs on offer. Anyone interested should be aware that working weekends, evenings and match days will be essential.

Yeohan Cunningham, Hospitality Academy Manager, said: “We’re already on the road to further improving the catering and hospitality facilities at the football club. The partnership has invested in new kitchen facilities, is in the process of refurbishing the former Aggborough Suite and we’ll be launching our new restaurant in September – The Academy Experience!”

Anyone interested in the apprentices should contact the Job Shop on 01384 344379 or email jobshop@stourbridge.ac.uk.
