Local Construction Firm Gets Suite Contract
Stourbridge College has appointed local Halesowen firm, A & H Construction & Developments, to work on the new Fitness Suite for its Hagley Road Centre. As part of the planned £1m refurbishment programme, a brand new fully equipped fitness suite will be opened in September, complementing the recent redevelopment of the Sports Hall.
Lynette Cutting, Principal, said: “We have a variety of successful sports courses on offer and it’s vital that students have access to a gym which includes changing and showering facilities. Students and staff can work out on the latest gym equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines and this is part of a wider ongoing investment in upgrading facilities to enhance student learning across the board at Stourbridge College. We will also be investing in a new student break out space at the Hagley Road Centre – the iZone – and will be updating the Learning Resources Centre.”
A&H Construction & Developments plc has more than 20 years experience in all aspects of building, civil engineering and project management, undertaking a wide range of projects in a range of market sectors. Their impressive portfolio comprises everything from minor alterations and refurbishments through to complete new industrial estates.
Rob Mottram, Director at A & H Construction, said: “We were delighted to have won the bid for the contract to work on the new Fitness Suite at Stourbridge College. Builders are already on site and work has begun and we’re looking forward to working with the college on creating a great new leisure space for students and staff in time for the start of the new term in September.”
