New Fitness Suite Fit For Purpose!

Stourbridge College’s new Fitness Suite, built by A&H Construction, is now open for staff and students at its Hagley Road Centre. As part of a £1m refurbishment programme at the Centre, the brand new, fully equipped gym has been opened complementing the recent redevelopment of the Sports Hall.

Students and staff can work out on the latest gym equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines and this is part of a wider ongoing investment in upgrading facilities to enhance student learning across the board at Stourbridge College.

Lynette Cutting, Principal at Stourbridge College, said: “We’ve invested in new state of the art leisure facilities as well as a new break out iZone area to enhance the student experience when they’re not studying and revising. The new facilities are also being utilised by the Sports team with timetabled classes being held in the new gym. We have a variety of successful sports courses on offer and it’s vital that students have access to facilities which include changing and showering facilities.”

Plans are currently being drawn up to refurbish the Learning Resources Centre and reception at the Hagley Road Centre to create a revamped Student Support Services area and a new Multi Media Centre where students will benefit from advanced technology systems and equipment.

Check out the new facilities by coming to one of our Open Events on Thursday 3rd November, 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm and Saturday 5th November, 10.00 pm until 2.00 pm.
