Student Gets Golf Off To A Tee!

Stourbridge College Sport student, Kathryn Brookes, has mastered the art of golf and has got her skill off to a tee by playing golf for Staffordshire County.

The second year BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 student plays golf for Penn Golf Club but also plays for the County as Vice Captain for County Girls, hoping to become Captain at the end of the year.

Kathryn, 17 from Lower Gornal, has been playing golf for four years and has competed in various competitions including the 2011 Midland Junior Champion of Champions (Girls).

She said: “My Handicap is 7, which is good considering I’ve only been playing for four years. My dad got me into the sport while we were on holiday and I’m actually better than he is now!”
