Open Event Opens Doors
Stourbridge College is opening doors for its next Open Event on Saturday 28th January 2012 and record numbers of applications for courses starting in September means that it’s sure to be a great success.
The college’s Schools/Events/Recruitment Officers have been out and about in local schools promoting the event as well as a wide range of courses and apprenticeships to Year 11 pupils. Interest in subjects such as Art & Design, Construction, Health & Social Care as well as Sport and A Levels is high.
Elaine Giles, Vice Principal Students & Corporate Development, said: “Stourbridge College has a great reputation for its provision of Art & Design and, now that we have a successful Football Academy up and running, interest in our sports courses is at record level. We are continually reviewing our curriculum offer to ensure that we are offering students the kind of courses they want and it’s great to see that applications to join us in September are so high compared to last year!”
Doors are open at the Hagley Road Centre (for most A Levels, Vocational, Motor Vehicle, Football & Hospitality courses as well as Higher Education), the Art & Design Centre (for Art & Design courses including Fine Art, Graphic Design, Textiles, 3D and Photography A Levels) and the Advanced Technology Centre (for Construction & the Built Environment) from 10.00 am until 2.00 pm. All visitors will have the chance to win £100 Westfield Voucher to spend at the Merry Hill Centre if they fill in an evaluation form and the chance to apply online on the day will be available.
Registration for the event is through the website: www.stourbridge.ac.uk/openevents
