College Supports Awards

Stourbridge College is supporting the Mayor’s Civic Awards by sponsoring the Cedric Hardwicke Award for Arts in memory of Sir Cedric who was born at Lye Cross in 1893.

Lynette Cutting, Principal at Stourbridge College, said: “This award is for people who have contributed to raising the profile of the arts in the borough – whether it be art, amateur dramatics or music. It’s very fitting that we have sponsored this award having an excellent reputation for providing outstanding Art & Design courses and facilities at our new Art & Design Centre in Brierley Hill.”

Local people are being urged to put forward nominations for the awards to reward those who have demonstrated outstanding work in the community - nominations must be in by Sunday 19th February. There are four categories – the Duncan Edwards Award for Sport, the Frank Foley Award for Community Spirit and the Thomas Attwood Award for Education plus a special Mayor’s Award.

Nominate online at www.dudley.gov.uk or pick up a form from libraries across the borough.
