Services To Schools – Giving you a flavour of what college life is like

“We work with schools throughout the year to provide a whole range of information regarding the opportunities available here at Stourbridge College. The Schools team is on hand to help you find the course that’s right for you – whether it’s through presentations, parents’ evenings, guided tours of the college, over the phone advice and guidance or by giving you a taste of what to expect when you come here through our taster days.”

To arrange a visit or discuss your school’s requirements contact Services to Schools on:

This is what we do in schools:

  • College Presentations – we can visit your school to give Year 11 presentations to whole year groups or smaller individual groups outlining the courses available at the college; the entrance requirements; discuss college facilities and enrichment activities and outline the type of support available for students during their time here
  • Careers Events and Options Evenings – we can come along to these events in schools across the borough to talk to pupils and parents about the qualifications available for 14-16 and post 16 year olds and answer any other queries
  • Online Application Sessions – We can come into your school and work with small or large groups to help pupils complete their online application forms. Alternatively you can book for groups of pupils to come into college and we can help them to complete their on-line applications here at the college
  • Specialist Talks and Master Classes – a specialist lecturer from the college can visit your school to tell pupils more about a particular course including more detail about course content, success rates and career opportunities
  • Drop in Sessions – We can provide an Advice and Guidance drop in service for pupils at your school
  • Mock Interviews – The Schools team can offer preparatory interviews for those pupils who are considering Stourbridge College as a Post 16 Option
  • Parents Evenings – We can come along to these events and be available to discuss course options with pupils, parents, guardians or carers
  • 14-16 Courses – There are a range of qualifications available for Year 10/11 pupils (as part of their Options) ranging from Construction, Public Services and Health & Social Care. Contact David Griffin on 01384 399770 for Construction enquiries and Sarah Wagstaff on 01384 399672 for Health & Social Care and Public Services enquiries.
