Getting Creative For New Campus
Stourbridge College’s Board of Governors has approved revised plans for a new campus in Brierley Hill which will be the new centre for the college’s Creative Industries. The proposal will see funds secured independently of the Learning & Skills Council.
Lynette Cutting, Principal at Stourbridge College, said: “Following on from the disappointment last year of not being selected for our new building we have spent months trying to find alternative ways of providing some new facilities for our staff and students. Financial restrictions have meant that we have scaled down our initial designs in order to provide an exciting building which represents excellent value for money.”
Chair of Board of Governors, said: “We want to make sure that Stourbridge College has a strong and vibrant presence in Brierley Hill ensuring that we continue to contribute to the vital regeneration in the area. The new campus, which will provide Art & Design facilities, will be Phase 1 of a long term investment programme to improve educational facilities across the board including Hagley Road Centre.”
